The language of trees – Théâtre de l’Orangerie

In “The language of trees”, children will witness the journey of a little seed growing by the Amazon river. Here, trees have a language of their own, inviting visitors to contemplate the changing seasons and the diversity of the rainforest. The theatre company offers workshops (for children aged 5 to 12) ahead of performances, allowing them to create characters and sets of this Amazonian fable. Tickets range from CHF 5 to CHF 10; performed in French.

Musiques en été – Geneva is alive with the sound of music

This summer, music will fill the air in Geneva: the Musiques en été festival returns to defy Calvinist traditions and get us dancing in the streets. Various styles will collide, from classical music to jazz to rap and back, creating a kaleidoscope of rhythm. Concerts will be held in the Alhambra’s cosy atmosphere (tickets start at CHF 10) and at the Scène Ella Fitzgerald, in the heart of Geneva’s Parc de la Grange, where all concerts will be free of charge.

Contemporary music – Northern lights for the ears

As part of the Musiques en été festival, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande will partner with Swiss artist Dan Archer to bring music to his light installation, Borealis. The installation was designed to recreate the sky and visual effects of an aurora borealis. This magical experience will take place at the Scène Ella Fitzgerald at the Parc de la Grange, and entrance is free.

Notebooks upon notebooks that belonged to philosophers, writers, sketch artists and others will be shown to the public in a collaboration with MAMCO. The Fondation Martin Bodmer is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 14h-18h, and until 21h on the first Wednesday of every month. Tickets range from CHF 10 to CHF 15.
