Discovering the life of Louise Bourgeois
The Grütli presents Louis(e), the theatrical biography of feminist artist Louise Bourgeois, famous for her Maman sculpture, a giant spider installed at the Place Neuve in 2011. The play is inspired by her exploration of intimacy, emotions and inner workings of the female artist’s mind. The show is in English and French. A FREE guided tour in English of the theatre and an expo related to the play takes place on 6 February in the presence of the actress who plays the lead role.

Learning from experience
The Théâtre des Expériences
Hosted by the Musée d’histoire des sciences, the Théâtre des Expériences invites visitors to learn physics through demonstration and experimentation, following the inventive ideas of Marc-Auguste Pictet (1752-1825). Replicas of his contraptions will give visitors as chance to test and learn more about the ideas presented, first-hand. Not to be missed by curious minds, young and old.

Directed by Daniel Reuss, the Orchestre du XVIIIe siècle and the Ensemble Vocal de Lausanne present Mozart’s Symphony n. 40 in G minor, and his Requiem in D minor at the beautiful Victoria Hall in Geneva.

Contemporary ballet
The Six Brandenburg Concertos
In a production by the Grand Théâtre de Genève, in collaboration with ADC, The Six Brandenburg Concertos are a contemporary ballet masterpiece, to the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. Choreographed by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, 16 dancers across multiple generations and 23 musicians deliver a delicate dialogue between movement and sound.
Tickets range from CHF 17 to CHF 99.

The Red Cross’ international poster collection on show
No form of publicity brings back such nostalgia as posters. In its Arrêt sur Affiches exhibition, the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum presents its collection of posters from all over the world. Since 1988, the collection has grown to over 10,000 posters, dating from 1866 to the present. Fundraising, disease prevention, emergency response, volunteer recruitment – the messages they convey remain as relevant as ever.
