Editorial

Our new website reflects our ambition to offer ever-stronger support to our 1,200 partners and distributors/stockists who provide sales and advice to livestock handlers.
It is the result of a team effort and, as with our other products, it will be developed and enhanced over time. Today, we invite you to take a look and make it your go-to reference tool.

NEW WEBSITE – NEW EXPERIENCE

The new JOURDAIN website is accessible. It is entirely designed to facilitate the different purchasing phases for our distributors/stockists. New features ensure smoother management of baskets and orders. Its new organisation makes it easier to find our 850+ items, while photo galleries show the products in situ, according to the type of livestock and farm. The website reflects the spirit of innovation and commitment to continuous improvement that have driven JOURDAIN since 1897.

WORKING IN CLOSE PROXIMITY WITH FARMERS

In March, in the Aubrac general competition at the Paris International Agricultural Show, JOURDAIN was in attendance to present 1st prize in the Older Cows section to Hermine of the Brunel de Barres cooperative in Lozère. In the Limousin general competition, the overall prize for the breed was awarded to the father and son behind the Berthé cooperative in Haute-Vienne, and their magnificent Oaxaca cow. These awards are the culmination of a long selection process and the expertise of French livestock handlers, widely recognised beyond our borders. The quality and diversity of cattle herds throughout the country represent a rich asset for France. JOURDAIN is proud to contribute to the success of livestock handlers by supporting their everyday work with quality products.

JOURDAIN ON SHOW

The Vaches en Piste trade show has just closed its doors at La Roche-sur-Foron in Haute-Savoie. From 30 March to 2 April, the large number of visitors to the JOURDAIN stand reflected the ever-increasing interest in our products. Dairy farmers in mountainous areas made the most of the presence of our technical sales staff to discover new products and obtain advice for their future plans.

THE FARMER'S PERSPECTIVE

Mr Chassany, President of the Aubrac UPRA (breed selection and promotion association), is committed to promoting the many advantages of this rustic breed, which is becoming more and more popular with livestock handlers, both in France and abroad.

Mr Chassany, President of the Aubrac UPRA

As a breeder himself, in Cantal, he is well-positioned to appreciate the practicality and robustness of JOURDAIN’s latest generations of equipment, which meet the special requirements of horned animals and long periods of use in mountainous areas. Equipped with feston headlocks, which allow him to contain his cows during feeding and to accomplish weaning, the farm manager particularly appreciates how suitable this product is for both young calves and mothers. The quick-release yoke is a real plus for him. These product benefits are the result of regular, constructive exchanges between technicians and livestock handlers. This ongoing work will help to secure the future of livestock farming in our regions and see the Aubrac breed continue its wonderful expansion.

JOURDAIN ABROAD

The excellent reputation of French livestock is a key factor in the increasing volume of foreign exports of selected animals. This is also the case for JOURDAIN products, and we are frequently commissioned to equip livestock buildings around the world. This comes in recognition of our commitment to the continuous optimisation of products which have already proven their worth, in terms of both safety and working conditions for farmers and comfort for animals.

TESTIMONY

We chose JOURDAIN equipment because I wanted my son to start out with quality products that would last, and the local dealer showed real competence.
Bruno Izard, cattle farmer in Puy-de-Dôme

A LITTLE SOMETHING EXTRA

The wide passage, free of any obstacles on the ground, provides convenience and safety for the farmer and the vet. Not having to negotiate obstacles to get to the animals makes all the difference, especially in an urgent situation such as calving in the middle of the night, or when carrying a heavy load. Talk to your local distributor/stockist or your nearest JOURDAIN technical sales representative.
